Nomination
Schoonhoven Silver Award 2018
The Schoonhoven Silver Award 2018 is now the seventh edition of the international competition for silversmithing. With the Schoonhoven Silver Award, the Silver Museum wants to challenge silversmiths, designers and visual artists at artistic and technical level.
The main criteria for this seventh edition of the award are to celebrate and rejuvenate older, traditional silversmithing techniques, to preserve our heritage whilst
injecting new life and innovation into the craft. The jury also looked for inspiring work that will encourage debate, discussion and research within the silversmithing community to ensure a promising and thriving future.
The work submitted for this year’s competition by many experienced silversmiths and young talents, creates a dynamic cross section of objects that we can be proud of. It demonstrates a real love for the craft and the desire to push the boundaries of innovation, both in design and in process and the jury is curious to see what the future holds.
